Songwriter... Composer / Arranger
THIS... Is what I like to do.
Having arranged for a few big bands and other ensembles while living in Wisconsin, the move to Central Florida provided an opportunity to write for groups in the area as well as Disney. The 12-piece brass arrangement is something I've fallen into. The 3 main bands I've played in at Disney - EPCOT's Future Corps & Future World Brass, and the Magic Kingdom's Main St. Philharmonic, have all been in this format, so I've kind of stayed with it.
After that, composing for similar instrumentation, as well as many others, has come naturally, since I've always had song ideas since high school. Enjoy the music on the site's player, or check out my video page for my recent additions.
AWESOME BAND GEEKS is the group name (suggested by an unsuspecting co-worker) and my work in progress "A Study In Brass" seemed a logical album title. I have always heard the Styx tune/Tommy Shaw composition "Fooling Yourself" as being played by a brass ensemble. All instruments and sounds programmed and/or played by myself. And the last track is an unfinished arrangement of Vince Guaraldi's holiday classic.
The remaining tracks are originals, all sounds played by myself, except for the improvised solos - I wanted to feature some of my friends. I'll be updating the track info and adding more music as I go. Soon I will be adding tracks from my first CD "Mustard Seed," (2004) and should have some track info for that as well soon to accompany the album graphic. All instruments and sounds programmed and/or played by myself.
